"Sisters, do not slander one another.
Anyone who speaks against her sister or judges her
speaks against the law and judges it.
When you judge the law, you are not keeping it,
but sitting in judgment on it.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge,
the one who is able to save and destroy.
But you - who are you to judge your neighbor?"
It continues to amaze me how these scriptures transcend time.
There was a reason James brought this lesson to the people
at that time, and I feel I can apply this to my life today.
I need to continually examine my attitude and actions toward others. Do I build people up or tear them down? Saying something that would be beneficial to others is the cure for finding fault, thereby acting as a follower of Christ, and loving others just as God loves me.
