Hosea 11

"When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and I called my son out of Egypt.
The more I called them, the farther they went away.
They sacrificed to other gods - the Baals,
and they burned incense to idols.
I was the one who taught the people of Ephraim to walk.
I took them by the hand.
But they didn't realize that I had healed them.
I led them with cords of human kindness, with ropes of love.
I removed the yokes from their necks.
I bend down and fed them.

'My people will follow me when I roar like a lion.
When I roar, my children will come trembling from the west.
They will come trembling like birds from Egypt
and like doves drom Assyria.
I will settle them in their own homes,'
declares the Lord."

Todays Thought

I see God as a loving Father disciplining his ungrateful children.
When I think about what God has given me,
his only son, Jesus Christ, perfect in everyway,
I come to tears .
His great sacrifice comes to mind when
I think about the troubles I face in my life.
His forgiveness comes to mind
when I need to forgive others.
His unconditional love comes to mind
when my feelings are hurt over something trivial.
His unending faithfulness comes to mind
when I feel alone.
God is ALWAYS with me,
He lays His hand upon me,
and grants me peace.
