Mission Trip to help the vicims of Hurricane Ike

A group of about 20 from Airport Freeway church of Christ
spent the weekend near Galveston, TX.
We helped the Bouse Family clear out their home which had been
severely damaged by Hurricane Ike that raised the flood waters
to over 4 feet in their home.
These are out of order.
The first picture was as we left the home
with all the trash to be picked up the next day.

The following pictures are what we found
when we arrived at the home.
Each room was destroyed.
Very little could be salvaged because of the bacteria.

You can see where the water level rose to in each room.

You could not imagine how this place smelled.
Salt water, sewage and mold.
It was sooooooooooo nasty.

The fridge had not been emptied out, so all the food
sat in there since Sept. 13th, and just rotted.
When they took it out on a dolly, it dripped
black horrible smelling fluid.

These people thank God for those who came to clear out their home
and give them hope. They were thankful for their health and for
the kindness of the many who have helped them make it day to day.
Please pray for the Bouse Family in Port Bolivar.
We helped to rebuild a home,
it was just the beginning for them to
rebuild their lives.
"Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving
the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward
everyone for whatever good he does!"
Ephesians 6:7-8
