John 6: 27-35

The people continued to follow Jesus to the city of Capernaum, after feeding the 5,000. Jesus said , ' You are not looking for me because you saw miracles. You are looking for me because you ate as much of those loaves as you wanted. Don't work for food that spoils. Instead, work for the food that lasts into eternal life. This is the food the Son of Man will give you.'
'What does God want us to do?' they asked.
Jesus replied to them, 'God wants to do something for you so that you believe in the one whom he sent.'
The people asked him, 'What miracle are you going to perform so that we can see it and believe in you? What are you going to do? Our ancestors ate the manna in the desert. Scriptures says, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'
Jesus said to them, 'I guarantee this truth: Moses didn't give you bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. God's bread is the man who comes from heaven and gives life to the world.'
'Sir give us this bread all the time,' they said.
Jesus told them, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never become hungry and whoever believes in me will never become thirsty."

3 Points to Ponder

* We do not "work" for our eternal life, the Son of Man (Jesus) freely will give it to you.

* Not Moses or any other man can offer us salvation. It is only through Jesus that the world will be saved.

* Our eternal salvation begins when we come to Jesus and believe that He is the son of God.
