It will take a lifetime to construct the building we were created to be. We are always adding to and removing from the building. Ultimately as Christians, we want elements that will make our spiritual structure strong so we may be an example for the next generation of how to begin with a solid foundation and add quality materials from that point on. Think of Jesus as the living stone in this following passage.
1 Peter 2:4
As you come to him, the living Stone - rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 2:1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good!
