Daniel 11

In Daniel's dream the angelic messenger was revealing Israel's future.
Only God can reveal future events so clearly.
God's work not only deals with the sweeping panorama of history,
but also focuses on the intricate details of people's lives.
His plans - whether for nations or individuals - are unshakable.

This lengthy chapter goes into detail about the rise and fall of the kings

of the south and the north. You may want to read the details on your own.

v.31-35" His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resisit him.

Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered. When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them. Some of the wise will stumle so that they may be refined, purfied and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will come at the appointed time."

I have relied on my commentary for the summary of this chapter.

Grab on to this thought

Those who are wise will teach many,
but they will also face great persecution.
Difficult times remind us of our weaknesses
and our inability to cope.
We want answers, leadership, and clear direction.
During these times, God's Word begins to interest
even those who would never look at it.
We should be ready to use our opporunities to share
God's Word in needy times.
We must also be prepared to face persecution
and rejections as we teach and preach.
