1 Peter 1:6-7

Though we greatly rejoice in the knowledge of our salvation, "now for awhile you may have to suffer grief in all kinds of trials, these have come so that your faith of which is greater than gold; (which perishes when refined by fire,) may prove genuine and may result in praise glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."

Do we have to suffer grief?

If we didn't go through the fire, how could we truly prove that our faith is genuine. It is easy to trust God when life is going swell, when blessings are being sprinkled on us and our loved ones. But the real test of a Christian is how well we rely on God's promises when trials come, when unexpected occurrences change our life, when sadness gripes our hearts because of circumstances that are beyond our control.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him.
And He will make your paths straight.
He works EVERYTHING for the good
to those who love Him!
